SESSION GUIDE
WHAT TO EXPECT
The experience is deeply personal and can feel different per session. The more sessions you receive, the more you may begin to feel and experience, as your energetic channels begin to unblock, reopen, and become more receptive to the flow of energy.
Reiki energy is intelligent – it knows where to go and what to do, offering your body and mind exactly what is needed in that moment.
You will be brought in a state between sleep and being awake (hypnagogic state) in which your body gets a kickstart to start to detox, remove blockages, heal and regenerate.
The experience will make you more aware, calm and energized. You will feel like something has been lifted or you can experience an inner shift. If you have been living on adrenaline for a longer while or have been ‘in your head’ for too long, the session will give you a deep reset and relaxation, as that is what your body and nervous system need. In this case you can feel tired after the session. It’s advisable to have the possibility to take it easy afterwards.
Tingling
Warmth (a sign that the energy is flowing)
Cold (a sign that blockages are being removed)
Energy flow throughout your body or in specific places
A feeling of deep calm
Emotions and/or memories surfacing
Idea’s, inspirations or insights
The possible sensations during the session:
Please wear comfortable clothing, soft fabrics (if not possible, I will have clothing for you to change in)
If possible no coffee on the day of the session or at least no coffee couple hours before the session
No alcohol on the day of session (and preferably also not the day before or after)
How to prepare:
Drink enough water or herbal tea
Take some time to be with yourself, go for a walk, for a low intensity workout, journal your thoughts, have a relaxing evening by yourself, take a bath or long shower
Try to be open to and aware of new insights, ideas and realizations
Try to stay off alcohol and coffee for a bit if possible
How to integrate after session for best results
The Reiki session itself is just a small part of the whole experience, after the session your body will continue detoxing, so in the days after it is important to drink enough water or herbal tea, softly move your body and to take some time (even if it is 10 minutes) to reflect and check in with yourself. This is important as it will speed up your healing journey, make you more aware of the effects of the session and make you more tuned in with them. The effects will still continue to develop in the weeks after the session. You’ll get new insights and will start seeing things from a fresh and new perspective. A shift will be felt physically as well as mentally.
